Retraction of an article is a mechanism for adjusting the content and scope of published materials on the journal’s website and informing readers about it. The retraction process can be initiated by the author, reader, or member of the editorial board.

The grounds for removing the article include:

– establishing that the article was previously published in another publication;

– detection of the fact of fabrication or falsification of data in the study;

– detection of significant errors in the article that led to a distortion of the scientific novelty or results obtained;

– identification of a co-author who does not meet the journal’s requirements for authorship;

– the existence of a conflict of interest or other violations of publication ethics;

– the identification in the article of an author associated with the aggressor country.

The recall procedure can be initiated by the Editor-in-Chief or at the official request of the author who has expressed a desire to recall his/her article.

If a corresponding author or a team of authors wish to withdraw their article, they should send a letter to the official e-mail address of the editorial office with a request for withdrawal, explaining all the circumstances of their decision. After reviewing such a letter, the editorial board, if it agrees to the withdrawal, conducts a retraction procedure.

The editorial board may also withdraw a published article based on the results of the peer review or on additional information from external sources that justifies the need for withdrawal. In this case, the editorial board sends an official letter to the corresponding author explaining the reasons for the withdrawal and draws up the relevant protocol of the editorial board.

At the end of the procedure, the article remains on the journal’s website, but with the note “REVOKED/RETRACTED” and the corresponding date of withdrawal.

The corresponding author may withdraw the original published article with deficiencies and replace it with a corrected version. In such a case, the retraction procedure will be followed, but the retraction notice will contain a link to the corrected and republished article and the history of the document in the database.
