The editors of the journals founded by the NGO “Eastern European Union of Scientists” accept original manuscripts that have not been published or made public before, in particular:
a research article of 4000-6000 words, which presents the results of the author’s original research of a scientific problem, justification of a new methodological approach, methodology; modification or improvement of an existing research method;
a review article of 6000-10000 words provides a detailed review of previously published research, methodological approaches, and ways of solving a particular problem with a mandatory critical assessment. The main purpose of review articles is to identify potentially relevant areas of scientific knowledge for their further development, as well as to formulate new conclusions based on existing data;
a short research report of 2500-4000 words contains the results of processing statistical information, surveys, and questionnaires on a specific scientific problem in order to publish scientific details, facts and other essential aspects of knowledge;
a book review (monograph, textbook, manual) / book review of up to 2500 words contains a critical expert opinion on a recently published scientific book, including a monograph, textbook, manual, etc.
The editors accept articles written exclusively in English or Ukrainian. Parallel submission of the manuscript to other scientific periodicals is not allowed!
The editorial board gives preference to articles by foreigners, including those in collaboration with Ukrainian scholars, and articles by Ukrainian authors in English.
Technical requirements for design:
Articles should be from 2500 to 10000 words in A4 format, size 11, font – Microsoft Sans Serif, interval – 1, margins: top – 20 mm; bottom – 20 mm; left – 20 mm; right – 20 mm; paragraph indentation – 10 mm.
The manuscript is formatted without automatic hyphenation. A space is required between words, on both sides of a dash, between digits in multi-digit numbers; a non-breaking space is required between initials and surname, between a number and the “%” sign, between digits and currency sign, between the “№” sign and a digit, etc. A space is not placed before a period, comma, colon, semicolon, exclamation mark, question mark, before and after a hyphen, between brackets and text or numbers within them, in compound numbers between a numerical and alphabetic designation (e.g., 24a).
In Cyrillic texts, use only quotation marks «»!
In Latin texts, use only quotation marks “”!
Tabular and graphical material (size 8-10, font – Cambria, spacing – 1) must have a number and title. The number and title of the table should be placed in the centre above the table, and the number and title of the figure should be placed in the centre below the figure. All graphic objects should be available for formatting and modification, so you should send files with such objects created by appropriate editors to the editorial board’s e-mail address together with the text of the author’s manuscript.
The editors recommend using the TEMPLATE when writing an article
The article should be accompanied by abstracts in Ukrainian and English of at least 250 words. The abstract reflects the summary of the manuscript, which usually follows the following structure:
– description of the research objective;
– brief information on the scientific methods and approaches used;
– formulation of the results obtained in a thesis statement;
– a brief statement of the scientific novelty of the article;
– theoretical value (for a review article);
– practical significance (for a research article and a short report);
The text of the article, considering the requirements of the Resolution of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine No. 7-05/1 of 15.01.2003, is formed in the following sections:
Authors who refer to sources based on the Ukrainian language should additionally provide their bibliographic descriptions in accordance with DSTU 8302:2015: https://www.grafiati.com/uk/info/dstu-8302-2015/examples/
The bibliographic description of the source must include the address of the website where it is posted. Only printed sources whose digital copies are not available on the Internet may be cited without a reference. Each bibliographic description placed in the References section must be referenced in the text of the manuscript. The vast majority of sources should be from the last 10 years and have an active DOI. It is desirable that references to publications in journals indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science prevail. The number of sources used should be at least 20!
APA Style is used for citations. When citing in the text, you should follow the rules of APA Style.
References to literary sources in the text should be in parentheses only: (Douglas, 2023, p. 146). References to 2 or more sources are made in reverse chronological order: (Minenko, 2022, p. 126; Maral, 2017, pp. 45, 112-123; Lysyi, 2008, p. 128). Other cases of citation:
– source with two authors: (Muravenko, & Lysyi, 2022, pp. 146-150);
– a source with three or more authors: (Muravenko et al., 2022, p. 257);
– source authored by the organisation: (The World Bank, 2024);
– source without author: (The name of the source instead of the author at the first mention in full, then it can be abbreviated);
– source by the editor: (Muravenko (Ed.), 2022, p. 258);
– sources by the same author, published in different years: (Muravenko, 2022, p. 258; 2018, p. 143);
– sources by the same author published in the same year – (Muravenko, 2022a, pp. 146-148; 2018b, p. 113);
– references to the law or other regulatory acts – (The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2022). Here, 2022 is the year of the regulatory act’s adoption.
The references in the list are not numbered. However, they are organised alphabetically by author’s name and chronologically when more than one work by the same author is referenced (by year of publication, starting with the earliest).
If several works by the same author (team of authors) published in the same year are cited, they are placed in the References list in alphabetical order based on the titles of the works; in this case, the year of publication is prefixed by the lowercase Latin letters a, b, c…
In the section “Literature Review” in the Ukrainian version of the manuscript, next to the author’s surname and initials, it is obligatory to indicate their surname transliterated into Latin with the year of publication in the List of References in brackets. For example: H. Bohrach (Bohrach, 2018), S. Rodrigas (Rodrigas, 1985), J. Bakhwati and K. Ramada (Bakhwati, & Ramada, 1984), H. Vrubel and A. Preskott (Vrubel, & Prescott, 1976).
Author’s manuscripts with information about the authors (in one file) and files of graphic objects are sent through the Open Journal System submission function or by letter to the journal’s official e-mail address.
All submitted materials undergo a mandatory internal review procedure and an anonymous double external review.
Manuscripts not meeting the journal’s profile or basic requirements are returned for revision or rejection.
The authors are responsible for the content of the manuscript and the accuracy of scientific information (e.g., the accuracy of names, surnames, citations, and statistics).
The opinions and suggestions expressed in the articles do not necessarily reflect the views of the editorial board.
The editorial board reserves the right to change the text of the article during layout, literary editing, and preparation of the journal for publication on the official website.
After being submitted to the editorial board of the Journal of the Eastern European Union of Scientists, the manuscript is prohibited from being submitted to and published in other scientific publications.
There is a procedure for withdrawing an article at all stages of the publication process.
After reviewing and accepting the manuscript for publication, the corresponding author is sent a layout of the article for approval.
One author (co-author) can publish only one article in the journal’s current issue.
